Designed by Geoff Adams and named after the first vessel built by John Guy and his settlers after their arrival in 1610, the Indeavour Stage was inspired by the Elizabethan playhouses of Shakespeare’s and Guy’s England. This uniquely beautiful venue was constructed mostly from materials that would have been available to the early settlers. Built with Newfoundland wood and enclosed with sail canvas, the Indeavour has a two and half storey tiring house, stage, groundling yard and a series of audience stalls.
